Acona
Acona is an international risk assessment consultancy group based in London, UK and Norway.
The Acona web site was given a thorough code clean-up to fix bugs and align the site to current coding standards. In the resultant code is now more easily maintainable, accessible to all users and leaner thus shortening download times and reducing unnecessary bandwidth use.
A database was created to hold the information on each of the company partners. This eases the update process and reduces the risk of errors that can easily crop up when working with large chunks of repeated code.
Quiet Science was commissioned to design and implement a secure online document repository to allow Acona to upload and share documents with clients. The system provides web administrators with the ability to create client login accounts and upload/edit documents for each client.
The Acona site benefits from the Quiet Science hosting and maintenance package which, for a monthly fee, provides the company with fast, reliable, Java enabled hosting and regular updates and modifications to the existing site content.
In addition to the hosting package, detailed monthly statistics reports are compiled for analysis to aid continued appraisal and goal evaluation.
Foxtrot Theatre Company
Foxtrot Theatre Company is based in Perth, UK and specialises in theatre in education for both schools and community audiences and business training through forum theatre.
Foxtrot required a new graphic design to replace their existent one which had become outdated. The new design incorporated elements from a recent leaflet design commissioned by the company bringing their online branding inline with other media.
Created as part of the new site was an article and news database which allows the Foxtrot web administrator to create, edit and delete articles and news items to be displayed on the site. The form interface used to carry out these tasks fits seamlessly into the site as a whole with an admin login system.
Foxtrot commission the design of online enquiry/booking forms periodically to augment their site and increase tour bookings.

Hughson Gallery
Hughson Gallery is positioned in Glasgow, UK. The gallery is owned, maintained and promoted by its owner Joan Hughson and specialises in promoting a wide range of lesser known artists.
A full re-design was commissioned to improve the gallery's web site. Particular effort was made with the new design to let the site fade into the background and allow the artists' works to take pride of place.
A complete artist, work and exhibition catalogue was created from the existing static data to allow a much more dynamic and maintainable site structure as well as aiding the creation of a consistent site-wide design. In particular this involved the manipulation and compression of a great number of images for web optimisation.
Dynamic functionality included in the new site includes automatic exhibition display between relevant dates and easy addition of new works to the associated artist and exhibition pages.

Quiet Science has also provided Hughson Gallery with advice and assistance regarding domain name purchase and moving domain registrar.
Ambassador Theatre Group
Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) is currently the second biggest theatre group in the UK regions, with a total of 24 venues. Amongst its theatres are Glasgow's King's Theatre and Theatre Royal
Quiet Science is commissioned to design and code periodic e-flyers for productions coming to ATG's Glasgow theatres. The flyers are checked for compability in a number of major pop and webmail clients and the images included are optimised and hosted by Quiet Science to reduce the load on ATG's server.
